Mommy Makeover

Motherhood brings exciting new emotions and joy into your household. However, it also brings in unwanted physical changes like sagging lower abdomen, stretch marks, unwanted pockets of fat, and sagging or enlarged breasts. Sometimes, these issues do not get resolved with diet and exercise.

So can you regain your pre-pregnancy body and be the svelte and shapely new-mommy that you have always wanted to be?
Yes, you can with a little help from Dr. Karishma Aesthetics!

A Mommy Makeover is basically a combination of cosmetic procedures done to re-shape and contour those areas of the body affected by pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.

WHEN CAN YOU GO IN FOR A MOMMY MAKEOVER?

You can go in for a Mommy Makeover after at least six months have passed since you stopped breastfeeding your baby. This is to allow your breasts to soften and return to their normal size.

WHAT IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO HAVE MORE CHILDREN?

In that case, it is better you wait till then because pregnancy, childbirth and hormones acting again, will wipe out all the results of the makeover.

Note – Lifestyle modifications, regular diet and exercise are very important. Before you have a Mommy Makeover, Dr. Karishma and her team will make sure that you have begun routine exercise and are following a nutritious diet plan. This is because Mommy Makeover is not a weight loss procedure.

WHAT ARE YOUR MOMMY MAKEOVER PROCEDURES ?

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) – get rid of sagging lower tummy skin and those relentless stretch marks which get permanent overtime. Tummy tuck will also tighten the muscles at the midline of your abdomen, which tend to get stretched out and lose their tone post childbirth.

Liposuction – To remove those unwanted pockets of “Stubborn” fat, that won’t go with diet and exercise, like at the inner thighs, arms, waistline, tummy and chin.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) – Raise your sagging breasts to their pre pregnancy/ pre-breastfeeding state. This will also include reducing the breast size, for women whose breasts enlarged tremendously during breastfeeding especially if the weight of the breasts is causing them functional problems.

Breast Augmentation – To restore volume and fullness to your breasts, for women who noticed their breasts have shrunk in size post breastfeeding and weight loss following childbirth. Breast augmentation at times may have to be combined with a Breast Lift as well.

Vaginal Rejuvenation – Life processes such as childbirth, weight fluctuations and hormonal changes may overstretch and damage vaginal tissue, damage the pelvic floor and alter the mucosal tone of the vaginal wall. The Non-surgical cutting edge technology- Alma Femilift- incorporates CO2 laser technology to resolve resolves these problems optimally by stimulating the formation of new collagen to rejuvenate the vaginal tissue. It is an outpatient procedure, extremely safe and painless. If the tissues are overstretched and non-surgical methods do not work – only then we will give you the option to surgically repair the pelvic floor muscles. Our Gynecologist will examine you and and help you choose the right option.

Face Related Skin Procedures – skin rejuvenation peels, skin lasers, rejuvenation Oxy Facials – to bring back that facial glow and act on skin pigmentation and dark spots caused due to hormones.

Choosing the right procedure

During your initial consultation with Dr Karishma, this is what you will discuss in detail. You may not need all of these procedures. You may opt for tummy tuck but not breast lift. You may want breast reshaping , but not liposuction. Be sure to know what you want the most, and research these procedures before meeting us. Every woman is different and procedures have to be customised to your need and want.

RECOVERY

Most women coming for such procedures would have at least one small child and may be running their household . As such you may have many concerns about your recovery. Your recovery will vary depending on which procedures you have done. It is best to take 1 to 2 weeks off from your work and avoid physical activity during that period. Strenuous exercises must be avoided for 2 to 3 weeks. If two or more procedures are combined , you must have the patience to recover, have your family member/spouse to support you with your kids and homecare.

Dr Karishma will give you an extensive recovery protocol and pain medications to relieve your distress. Pain, swelling and bruising are expected with any procedure. These will gradually subside.
